Two charged with robbing juvenile in Mount Olive

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – An 18-year-old and a 17-year-old have been charged for allegedly robbing a juvenile in Mount Olive Township last month.

Police investigated an assault that occurred on July 13 at around 9:34 p.m. at Lou Nelson Park located in the Budd Lake section of Mount Olive Township, police said.

A police investigation determined that a juvenile male was attempting to allegedly purchase THC vape cartridges from Erhan Sarki, 18, and a 17-year-old boy both from Budd Lake. During the transaction, the 17-year-old allegedly struck the juvenile, causing injury, police said.

Sarki and the 17-year-old then took $500 cash from the juvenile and left, police said.

Sarki was charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and theft. He was lodged at Morris County Correctional Facility pending a court hearing.

The 17-year-old was charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, aggravated assault and theft. He was lodged at the Morris County Juvenile Detention Center pending a court hearing.
