Two charged with shoplifting after stealing from Mount Olive Lowe’s

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – Two men have been charged for allegedly stealing from the Lowe’s in Mount Olive Township.

On March 11, at 12:35 p.m., Lowe’s Home Improvement Loss Prevention contacted police to report that two males were shoplifting copper wire from the premises. Police responded to the area and located one suspect, who was identified as Raul Lopez, 35, of Allentown PA, police said.

Lopez was detained while the officer investigated the shoplifting complaint with Lowe’s Loss Prevention. Upon completion of the investigation, he was arrested and charged with shoplifting and conspiracy to commit shoplifting. He was lodged in Morris County Correctional Facility pending a court appearance, police said.

Then on March 19, police were contacted by the Morris County Prosecutor’s Officer who advised that Antonio D. Dewitt, 34, of Paterson, NJ, who matched the description of the second suspect, was lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility for shoplifting at a different Lowe’s Home Improvement Center, police said.

Police determined that Dewitt was the second suspect in the March 11 incident and he was charged with shoplifting and conspiracy to commit shoplifting, police said.
