Two found with numerous fake credit cards, driver’s licenses and other information following traffic stop in Morris County

ROXBURY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – Two people are facing several charges after police allegedly find several fake credit cards, fake driver’s licenses and other information following traffic stop in Roxbury Township, according to police.

On Thursday, July 27, at around 11:00 p.m., Sgt. Gaffey conducted a routine motor vehicle stop on Route 46 in the Ledgewood section of the township, police said.

The driver, who was identified as Miranda Nwadeyi, 48, of California and the passenger, who was identified as John Anderson, 37, of New York, provided conflicting information, police said.

A search of the vehicle uncovered approximately 17 fraudulent credit cards, 13 fraudulent driver’s licenses, approximately 30 different victim’s personal and bank account information from Illinois, Pennsylvania, New York, Texas, California and Texas, instructions on how to perpetrate identity theft, and approximately $5,000 in US currency, police said.

Nwadeyi and Anderson were charged with 34 counts of credit card theft and 26 counts of exhibiting false documents. Both were lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility, police said.

Roxbury Township Police Chief Adone commended Sgt. Gaffey for conducting a thorough investigation on what started as a routine motor vehicle stop.

“This was an outstanding effort by Sgt. Gaffey who recognized signs of criminal activity which ultimately led to the arrest of these two individuals who are possibly involved in a nationwide criminal enterprise,” Adone said.
