Two fugitives arrested at Warren County motel

INDEPENDENCE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – Two people wanted in Pennsylvania were arrested last month at a motel in Independence Township.

On May 23, officers responded the Econo-Court Motel, located at 191 Route 46, after a series of threats were made to an individual. The accused was identified as Kristie Bishop, 45, of Hackettstown, police said.

Bishop was found to have a National Crime Information Center (NCIC) warrant out of Pennsylvania, police said.

Bishop was arrested and charged with fugitive of justice and lodged in the Warren County Jail pending extradition to Pennsylvania, police said.

Then on May 26, officers responded to the Econo-Court Motel for an unwanted male, police said.

Officers were able to make contact with the person and confirmed his identity as Robert Swendsen, 39, of Pa. after multiple attempts to provide false credentials, police said.

Swendsen was arrested after it was discovered he had a National Crime Information Center (NCIC) warrant out of Pennsylvania, police said.

Swendsen was charged with fugitive of justice and lodged in the Warren County Jail pending extradition to Pennsylvania, police said.
