
UPDATE: 80-year-old woman with dementia found safe
UPDATE: On Sunday, July 2 at around 4:30 p.m., police responded to Skunktown Lane for a missing 80-year-old female, later identified as Barbara Shauger, who had left a residence and has dementia, police said.
Upon arrival, police made contact with her son, who stated he had last seen his mother around 1:30 p.m. He further stated that he was not from the area and was working on a house and had brought his mother, who was not familiar with the area, police said.
After an extensive search by multiple agencies, Barbara was located at around 1:30 a.m. in a heavily wooded area behind Skunktown Lane, police said.
Barbara was not injured but was transported to an area hospital for an evaluation, police said.
Assisting in the search were the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office, Warren County Corrections, Warren County Tactical Response Team, Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Sussex County Sheriff’s Office K-9, Blairstown Hose Company #1, Blairstown Ambulance Corps, Blairstown OEM, New Jersey State Police, New Jersey Search and Rescue Council, Search and Rescue Teams of Warren County, New Jersey Rescue and Recovery, Central Jersey Search and Rescue, New Jersey Search and Rescue, Specialty K9 Search and Recovery.

Barbara Shauger, 80, walked away from 3 Skunktown Lane in Blairstown Township on Sunday, July 2, at around 4:00 p.m., police said.
Shauger was last seen wearing white top, black pants, white socks, and black slip on shoes.
