UPDATE: Hunterdon County school bus fires ruled not suspicious

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A middle of the night fire that destroyed three school buses in the parking lot of the Spruce Run School in Clinton Township last Friday is not considered suspicious, said Clinton Township Police Lieutenant Harry P. Bugal Jr.

“There was video surveillance of the vehicles and upon review from the Clinton Township Detective Bureau and the Hunterdon County Prosecutors Office, nothing suspicious was observed or crime committed,” Bugal Jr. told RNJ.

The fire happened at around 12:44 a.m. at the Spruce Run school on Friday, Feb. 17 and no one was injured, Bugal Jr. said.

The fire could be seen from the highway, Bugal Jr. said.

When the fire chief arrived on scene, three small buses were fully involved at the end of the row. Firefighters  operated for 90 minutes, authorities said.
