USGS: 2 earthquakes reported in Morris County

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ – The United States Geological Survey (USGS) says two earthquakes were detected in Morris County Tuesday evening.

A magnitude 2.3 earthquake was recorded at 5:14 p.m. at a depth of 5.0 kilometers and .62 miles west south west of White Meadow Lake in Rockaway Township, according to USGS.

There were reports that some people did feel the earthquake.

Then a magnitude 1.7 earthquake was recorded at 6:37 p.m. at a depth of 5.0 kilometers and .62 miles west south west of Lake Telemark in Rockaway Township, according to USGS.
