Various pool, spa drain covers sold exclusively on Amazon recalled

Various pool and spa drain covers imported to the United States by several companies and were sold exclusively on Amazon have been recalled due to violation of the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The recalls involve about 5,500 units imported by Find4Fix, about 1,000 units imported by Angzhili, about 300 imported by Goetas, and about 300 units imported by Chyir Myd.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the recalled drain covers do not conform to the entrapment protection standards of the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act (VGBA), posing an entrapment hazard to swimmers and bathers.

Angzhili products were sold from June 2021 through June 2022 for about $12.

Goetas products were sold from October 2021 through April 2022 for about $10.

Find4Fix products were sold from August 2019 through June 2022 for about $12 (eight-inch pool main drain covers with screws) and from June 2020 through June 2022 for about $22 (eight-inch pool main drain covers with screws (2 Packs)).

Chyir Myd products were sold from September 2021 through June 2022 for about $12.

No incidents or injuries have been reported.

Pool owners, operators and consumers should immediately stop using pools and spas with the recalled pool or spa drain covers. Consumers should then remove the drain cover from the pool and/or spa and submit a photo of the drain cover to the company as proof of removal and to receive the refund. Consumers should dispose of the recalled pool or spa drain covers after submitting proof of removal.
