Vernon woman faces drug charges

NEWTON, NJ (Sussex County) – A Vernon Township woman is facing drug charges in Newton

Jennifer Eisenberg, 49, was charged with third degree possession of Controlled dangerous substance, two counts of third-degree possession of prescription legend drugs, possession of an alcoholic beverage in a park, and being in possession of an open container of alcohol.

At 10:26 a.m., an officer observed Eisenberg allegedly to be consuming an alcoholic beverage in the area of Memory Park. A warrant check was conducted and revealed an active $1,000 Hamburg warrant warrant and a $750 Wantage Twp. warrant, police said.

Eisenberg was arrested for the warrants and a search incident to arrest allegedly found her to be in possession of three Suboxone Sublingual films and four Zolpiden Tartrate pills. She did not possess a prescription for either narcotic, police said.

Eisenberg was lodged in the Sussex County Jail pending a future court appearance.
