
VIDEO: Porsche stolen from Warren County recovered in New York, one arrested
YONKERS, NY (Westchester County) – A stolen Porsche that was taken from Warren County was recovered in Yonkers and one person was arrested, Yonkers police said Wednesday.
Earlier this week, police received a call from a car dealership tracking a stolen Porsche that had entered Yonkers. This vehicle was reported stolen out of Great Meadows just the day before, police said.
Officers spotted the 2021 Porsche Macan parked on Nepperhan Avenue and surveilled it from a distance, awaiting the unauthorized operator to return to the vehicle,, police said.
After approximately 25 minutes, a male, later identified as Jayden Martell, 20, of Newark, approached the stolen vehicle and unlocked it with a key fob, at which point the officers moved in to apprehend him, police siad.
Martell then fled on foot as one officer gave chase after him, and another officer pursued in her vehicle, cutting him off around the corner, police said.
“Seeing that he had nowhere else to run, Martell surrendered himself and was safely apprehended by the officers,” police said.
Martell was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, police said.
The stolen vehicle and key fob were secured to be returned to the owner, police said.
