Volunteers needed for Morris County’s Nutrition Program

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ – The Morris County Nutrition Program is seeking volunteers to assist in the kitchen and to deliver meals to Morris County Seniors. The program has nutrition sites throughout Morris County that serves more than 1,200 seniors Monday to Friday.

There are two types of volunteer opportunities: kitchen assistants and drivers to help deliver meals.

  • Volunteer kitchen assistants assist with setting up in preparation for delivery, serving meals to congregate seniors, and cleaning up. There is no cooking of meals but portioning and preparing of bags for delivery.
  • Volunteer drivers deliver meals to homebound seniors in the local community. Driver must have a valid driver’s license and the use their own car.

  • Denville Nutrition Site-Cooks Pond Senior Housing, 455 Diamond Spring Road

Volunteer Kitchen Assistant

Days needed:  Monday, Wednesday, Friday

Hours: 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

  • Dover Nutrition Site:  St. John’s Episcopal Church, 11 South Bergen Street

Volunteer Kitchen Assistant

Days:  Mondays and Thursdays

  • Long Hill Nutrition Site – The Senior Center, 769 Valley Road

Volunteer Kitchen Assistant

Days needed: Tuesdays

Hours: 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.

  • Montville Nutrition Site-Montville Senior house – 366 Main Road

Volunteer Kitchen Assistant

Volunteer Driver

Days needed: Thursdays

Hours: 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

  • Morristown Nutrition Site

Volunteer Kitchen Assistant

Days needed:  Tuesday and Thursday

Hours: 9:30-11 a.m.

Volunteer Driver

Days needed:  Monday, Wednesday, Friday

Hours: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

  • Morris Township Nutrition Site– Morris Mews, 99 Ketch Road

Volunteer Driver

  • Rockaway Nutrition Site-Pleasant View Village, 221 Mt. Pleasant Avenue

Volunteer Kitchen Assistant

Days needed:  Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday

Hours 6:30 – 9:30 a.m.
