WalletHub: New Jersey is 2020’s 4th happiest state in America

NEW JERSEY – New Jersey is 2020’s 4th happiest state in America, according to a study done by WalletHub.

WalletHub released their 2020’s Happiest States in America on Tuesday.

With the COVID-19 pandemic taking a toll on Americans’ mental health, according to WalletHub’s report.

To determine where Americans have the highest satisfaction with life, WalletHub compared the 50 states across 32 key indicators of happiness. The data set ranges from the depression rate and the positive COVID-19 testing rate to income growth and the unemployment rate.

Happiness in New Jersey (1=Happiest; 25=Avg.):

  • 1st – % of Depressed Adults
  • 1st – Suicide Rate
  • 16th – Number of Work Hours
  • 3rd – Separation & Divorce Rate
  • 14th – Safety
  • 6th – Positive COVID-19 Testing Rate of Last 4 Weeks

Here are the top 5 least happy state:

  1. West Virginia
