WalletHub: New Jersey is 2022’s 10th best state for jobs

NEW JERSEY – New Jersey is 2022’s 10th best state for jobs, according to a study done by WalletHub.

With the unemployment rate at 3.7% and many businesses desperate to hire workers, the personal-finance website WalletHub Wednesday released its report on 2022’s Best & Worst States for Jobs.

To ease the process of finding employment for job seekers, WalletHub compared the 50 states across 35 key indicators of job-market strength, opportunity and economic vitality. The data set ranges from employment growth to median annual income to average commute time.

Finding a Job in New Jersey (1=Best; 25=Avg.):

  • 23rd – Employment Growth
  • 14th – Monthly Average Starting Salary
  • 29th – Unemployment Rate
  • 4th – Median Annual Income (Adjusted for Cost of Living)
  • 16th – Avg. Length of Work Week (in Hours)
  • 9th – % of Residents 5+ Who Are Fully Vaccinated Against COVID-19
