WalletHub: New Jersey ranked 5th happiest state in America

NEW JERSEY – A new study ranked New Jersey as the 5th happiest state in the country.

WalletHub released their 2019’s happiest states in America on Monday.

Happiness in New Jersey (1=Happiest; 25=Avg.)

  • 2nd – % of Depressed Adults
  • 2nd – Suicide Rate
  • 23rd – Number of Work Hours
  • 4th – Separation & Divorce Rate
  • 25th – Safety

Here are the top 10:

  1. Hawaii
  2. Utah
  3. Minnesota
  4. California
  5. New Jersey
  6. Idaho
  7. Massachusetts
  8. Maryland
  9. Nebraska
  10. Connecticut

The U.S. ranked No. 19 on this year’s world happiness report, down one spot since the previous edition, and research showing that money up to a certain dollar amount can contribute to happiness.

To determine where Americans have the highest satisfaction with life, WalletHub compared the 50 states across 31 key indicators of happiness. The data set ranges from emotional health to income level to sports participation rate.
