
Wanted woman arrested after shoplifting from Warren County Rite Aid
LOPATCONG TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – Authorities say they arrested a shoplifting suspect on Sunday who was wanted in Northampton County, Pennsylvania.
On May 1, at around 2:00 p.m., Lopatcong Township police responded to Rite Aid Pharmacy, located at 755 Memorial Parkway, for a shoplifting in progress, authorities said.
Upon arrival, a suspect was seen leaving the store walking to her car after concealing $173 worth of merchandise, authorities said.
During the course of the investigation, the suspect was identified as Marci L. Schawar, 48, of Easton, PA. On two separate occasions, she provided law enforcement with false names and dates of birth to hinder her apprehension, authorities said.
Schawar finally provided her proper name and date of birth, and she was wanted on National Crime Information Center (NCIC) warrant out of Northampton County, Pennsylvania, authorities said.
Schawar was charged with one count of shoplifting, two counts of hindering apprehension, nd one count of Fugitive from Justice. She was transported to Warren County Correction Facility pending future court appearances and extradition to Pennsylvania, authorities said.
