Warren County man accused of assaulting juvenile on New Years Eve, police say

FORKS TOWNSHIP, PA (Northampton County) – A Warren County man is accused of assaulting a child in the basement of a Pennsylvania home on New Year’s Eve in Forks Township, police announced this week.

On Jan. 18, at 10:40 a.m., police received a referral from Northampton County Children, Youth and Family Services regarding an investigation, police said,

The referral indicated a juvenile female victim was touched inappropriately by an adult male, who was identified as John R. Grossmith, 42, of Stewartsville, police said.

Upon further investigation by detectives, it was alleged that, on December 31, 2022, Grossmith had unlawful sexual contact with the juvenile victim in the basement of a home in Forks Township, police said.

As a result of the investigation, Grossmith was charged with unlawful contact with a minor, indecent assault person less than 13-years-old, and corruption of minors, police said.
