Warren County man accused of sexually assaulting a child

BLAIRSTOWN TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A 57-year-old Blairstown Township man was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulted a child, according to the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office.

It is alleged that between 1990 through 1995 on various dates, Mark Van Grouw, sexually assaulted a child at his residence in Blairstown Township. He allegedly engaged the victim in multiple sexual acts while the victim was between 10 and 15-years-old, authorities said.

Van Grouw was charged with two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, four counts of second-degree sexual assault, and two counts of criminal sexual contact.

His initial first appearance in Warren County Superior Court was held on Jan. 19 and he remains lodged in Warren County Jail, prosecutor’s office said.

The Warren County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victim’s Unit and the New Jersey State Police Hope Station assisted in the investigation.
