Warren County man allegedly threatened to kill police officers during investigation

LOPATCONG TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) –  A Warren County man was jailed after he allegedly threatened to kill Lopatcong Township police officers during an investigation, according to authorities.

On April 2, at around 8:44 p.m., police responded to 366 Stonehenge Drive in Lopatcong Township for the report of a dispute, authorities said.

While investigating the incident, it was determined that Brian W. Kelly, 50, of Lopatcong Township was the assailant. As officers attempted to gather information from Kelly, he threatened to kill the officers on scene, authorities said.

Kelly was taken into custody and charged with simple assault and third-degree terroristic threats. He remains lodged in the Warren County Jail pending a detention hearing, authorities said.
