Warren County man arrested, accused of uploading images depicting child sexual exploitation and abuse

POHATCONG TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A Warren County man has been arrested arrested for allegedly uploading images depicting child sexual exploitation and abuse, the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office announced Tuesday.

In June of 2022, Google notified the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) that an account holder listed as “twitch ghost” uploaded several images depicting child sexual abuse. NCMEC then contacted the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office who opened an investigation, authorities said.

The prosecutor’s office reviewed the images and confirmed that the uploaded files were consistent with child sexual exploitation and abuse, authorities said.

Detectives were able to determine that the Google account belonged to James E. Dimarsico, 35, of Pohatcong Township. It was also discovered that he is a registered sex offender and has five felony convictions stemming from a past sexual assault case involving a minor, the prosecutor’s office said.

Law enforcement applied for a search warrant seeking authorization to seize and search any electronic devices belonging to Dimarsico. A search warrant was issued by a Superior Court Judge and executed upon his residence and several devices were seized and additional evidence related to this case was uncovered, authoriteis said.

Dimarsico was charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child for distributing items depicting child sexual exploitation and abuse, second-degree endangering the welfare of a child for intent to distribute items depicting child sexual exploitation and abuse, and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child for possession of items depicting child sexual exploitation and abuse.

If convicted, Dimarsico could face a total of 25 years in New Jersey State Prison and required to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law, the prosecutor’s office said.
