Warren County man arrested in connection to February 2021 robbery of Hackettstown Friendly’s

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – A Warren County man was arrested in connection to a February 12, 2021 robbery in Hackettstown.

The robbery occurred on Friday, February 12, 2021 between 9:30 p.m. and 9:40 p.m. at the Friendly’s Restaurant, located at 304 Mountain Ave, in Hackettstown, police said.

Through a police investigation, it was determined that Erik Mitchell, 30, of Hackettstown allegedly passed a note to an employee demanding money and he reportedly had a gun but no gun was shown. He then stole $214.00 in cash and fled the scene, police said.

Mitchell was arrested and charged on January 31, 2022 with first-degree robbery and fourth-degree theft by unlawful taking. He also had a $2,500 Mount Arlington Borough municipal court traffic warrant, police said.

Mitchell was then lodged in the Warren County Correctional Facility pending a court appearance, police said.
