Warren County man faces drug charges in Mount Olive Township

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A 34-year-old Oxford Township man faces drug charges after an incident at the Village Green Apartments in Mount Olive Township on Tuesday.

On Jan. 12, at 10:36 a.m., a Village Green maintenance worker contacted police to report an unknown male sleeping in one of the laundry rooms and he refused to speak to the maintenance worker, police said.

An officer responded to the area, and was advised the man left the laundry room. A Village Green resident contacted police to report a suspicious male sitting in the woods near her apartment, police said.

The officer located the male who matched the description of the person sleeping in the laundry room. The man was identified as Gregory E. Becker and during the course of the investigation, it was revealed that Becker had a warrant from Mount Olive Township and a no bail Warren County warrant, police said.

Becker was arrested and a search was conducted. He was allegedly in possession of suspected heroin, syringes and a pipe, which is commonly used to ingest controlled dangerous substances, police said.

Becker was charged with possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of syringe. Warren County provided Becker with a new court date and he was released, pending a court hearing, police said.
