Warren County man facing DWI, drug charges

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Warren County man is facing several charges including heroin possession and driving while intoxicated in Mount Olive Township.

Elias G. Richdan, 31, of Oxford was charged with DWI, reckless driving, possession of drug paraphernalia, under the influence of CDS, and possession of heroin.

On July 24, at 1:05 p.m., township officers responded to the Mall at Wild Geese, located on Route 46, for a report of an intoxicated delivery truck driver, police said.

Upon arrival, the officers located the man that matched the description and identified him as Richdan. Officers immediately observed signs of impairment and asked Richdan to exit his delivery truck and perform standardized field sobriety tests, police said.

During the course of the investigation, officers asked Richdan for consent to search his vehicle and Morris County K-9 assisted with the investigation. Officers located drug paraphernalia with suspected heroin inside the vehicle, police said.

Richdan was charged and released to a sober driver pending a court appearance.
