UPDATE: Police identify Warren County man killed in Hillside Township crash

HILLSIDE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Union County) – Police have identified the 27-year-old man who was killed and his passenger who was injured in a single-vehicle crash in Hillside Township Saturday night.

The crash happened just before 10:00 p.m. on North Broad in the area of Hillside Avenue, according to Hillside Police Chief Vincent Ricciardi.

Antonio Lotona, 3rd, 27, of Washington Township was traveling southbound in a 1999 Jeep Cherokee on North Broad and in the area of Hillside Avenue  when it appeared he lost control of his vehicle, hit a guardrail, and overturned in front of 16 Hillside Avenue, Ricciardi said.

Latona was killed in the crash and his only passenger, Micheal Ranallo, 33, also of Washington Township, Warren County was extricated from the vehicle and transported to University Hospital in Newark where he is in unknown condition, Ricciardi said.

The crash remains under the investigation by the Hillside Police Traffic Division.
