HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – A Warren County woman was arrested in Hackettstown Tuesday night for allegedly driving drunk with her three-year-old child in the car at the time.
Brittany Hicks, 26, of Phillipsburg driving under the influence, endangering the welfare of a child, being under the influence of synthetic cannabinoids and reckless driving.
On Aug. 11 at around 10:02 p.m., police responded to Route 517 for a report of an erratic motor vehicle. The officer located the vehicle at the intersection of Route 517 and Main St, police said.
The officer then stopped the vehicle on Main St and the driver, who was identified as Brittany Hicks, 26, of Phillipsburg, NJ, showed signs of impairment. Synthetic cannabinoids, also known as K2/Spice, was found inside the vehicle’s center console, police said.
Through an investigation it was determined Brittany allegedly smoked K2 approximately one-half hour prior to the officer stopping her vehicle, police said.
Hicks was transported to Hackettstown Medical Center and her child was turned over to an adult. Brittany was charged and released pending a court appearance.
