Warren County woman struck, killed in Pennsylvania crash

COOLBAUGH TOWNSHIP, PA (Monroe County) – A Hackettstown woman is dead after she was hit by a vehicle Sunday night in Monroe County, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The crash happened at 11:00 p.m. on Interstate 380 near mile marker 6 in Coolbaugh Township, state police said.

Theodore Poncet, 21, of Buffalo, NY was traveling on I-380 northbound when he observed a disabled vehicle in the Eastern shoulder and began maneuvering his vehicle into the left lane of travel, state police said.

As Poncet approached the disabled vehicle, he observed a pedestrian, who was later identified as Chantalle Cecconi, 27, in the right lane of travel. He then began maneuvering his vehicle further into the Western shoulder to avoid a collision, state police said.

Cecconi then abruptly ran in front of Poncet’s vehicle and she was then struck, state police said.

Cecconi was transported to Geisinger Community Medical Center by Pocono Mountain Regional EMS where she was pronounced dead, state police said.

Poncet was uninjured, state police said.
