Washington Twp., Morris County’s seasonal rink in Palmer Park is open for skating

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – In Washington Township, Parks and Recreation have opened their seasonal ice rink at Palmer Park located off Bartley Road.

The rink will be open when it’s frozen and there will be a sign near the entrance to Palmer Park indicating when the rink is open for skating. The rink is not for hockey.

The temporary rink, which was built by the Washington Township Department of Public Works, will be removed after the winter and field preparation completed before spring baseball.

Officials ask to observe the following:

  • Stay off surface when No Skating sign is up at entrance to park. If the liner is damaged the rink will not retain water.
  • Park in the lower lot (please be patient as the parking lot will be plowed after roads when there is snow).
  • The rink (when frozen) will be open dawn to dusk.
  • No aggressive skating.
  • Skating that endangers or interferes with other users safety or pleasure is prohibited.
  • No food or drink while on ice.
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Skates must be worn on surface.
