Weekday daytime lane closures for next 2 months on I-80 eastbound in Knowlton Twp. for retaining wall repairs
Expect possible congestion during the morning commute
KNOWLTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials Thursday announced the continuation of daytime lane closure of the right lane on I-80 eastbound before the S-curve for retaining wall repairs in Knowlton Township.
From 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday for the next two months, the right lane on I-80 eastbound will be closed just before the S-curve near mile post 1.4. One lane will remain open during construction.
The work is necessary to repair an eroded section of the wall by pouring a new footing, repairing cracks in the wall and stabilizing the embankment area. The schedule of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors.
Earlier this year, a section of damaged pipe under I-80 unrelated to the erosion was found and repaired. In addition, the entire drainage system was cleaned, and repairs were made to inlets and a drainage outfall.
Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website for real-time travel information.
