Wells Fargo, M&T closing Hackettstown branches in October
HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – Wells Fargo Bank and M&T Bank have announced they will permanently close their Hackettstown branches in October.
Wells Fargo Bank will close their Hackettstown branch, located at 811 High St, on Oct. 21, according to Wells Fargo spokesperson Stephanie Ahenkora.
“We continue to evaluate our branch network and base our distribution strategy on customer trends, market factors and economic changes. Based on our current assumptions regarding consumer behavior and our own technology advances, as well as other factors, our total branch network has declined. While branches are important in serving our customers’ needs, customers have more ways than ever to bank and digital usage continues to increase,” Ahenkora said.
After Oct. 21, customers can use their Hackettstown-Mansfield branch, located at 2000 Route 57, in Mansfield Township, approximately 3.3 miles away (nine minute driving distance). There are also two other nearby branches in Flanders, Ahenkora said.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this closure may cause. We ask that customers please refer to our online or mobile branch locator to find additional nearby branches, or use our mobile app and wellsfargo.com to complete their banking needs,” Ahenkora said.
M&T Bank will close their Hackettstown branch, located at 200 Grand Ave, on Oct. 28, according to M&T Bank spokesperson David Samberg.
“M&T Bank routinely assess our branch locations, making appropriate adjustments to ensure we properly allocate our resources to best serve our customers. In some situations, we make the difficult decision to consolidate branches with low traffic and daily transactions.-not only to improve our efficiency, but also to make sure that we’re located where our customers are located,” Samberg said.
The growing adaptation of technology continues to change how people bank, with online and mobile channels giving customers access to financial services where, when, and how is most convenient for them, Samberg said.
Customers who utilized the Hackettstown branch can bank at any other M&T branch or ATM. To find other M&T Bank and ATM locations click here.
Customers can also bank on their Telephone Banking Center (1-800-724-2440), online at mtb.com and on their Apple and Android mobile apps.
