Winners announced in Hackettstown’s virtual Halloween costume contest

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – Hackettstown police announced the winners of the town’s virtual Halloween costume contest.

The 7th Annual Hackettstown Halloween costume parade went on this year but it was virtual. Due to the pandemic and the need to keep everyone safe, the traditional Halloween parade was canceled, police said.

In the Halloween costume contest, there were four categories: Infant to 3-years-old, 4-years-old to 6-years-old, 7-years-old to 10-years-old and pet (any age).

Police announced the winners on Halloween, which are listed below.

  • Best Halloween Costume Winner Infant-3yrs: Hope, 5 months, dressed as a “Chicken”

  • Best Halloween Costume Winner 4yrs-6yrs: Madison, 6-years-old, dressed as a “Kreepy Klown”

  • Best Halloween Costume Winner 7yrs-10yrs: Brodie, 10-years-old, dressed as “The Invisible Man”

  • Best Halloween Pet Costume Winner: Tyson, 2-years-old, dressed as “Super Tyson”

“We hope next year we can have our in-person parade,” police said.

The event was sponsored by the Hackettstown Police Department, Mars Wrigley, Atlantic Health System/Hackettstown Medical Center, Hackettstown Business Improvement District and Centenary University.
