
Woman accused of shoplifting, hitting loss prevention officer with vehicle in Morris County
HANOVER TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Union County woman is accused of shoplifting items from ShopRite in Hanover Township before hitting a loss prevention officer in the parking lot, according to police.
On Dec. 9, police responded to the ShopRite for a shoplifting in progress. The vehicle fled the scene and the vehicle description as well as the suspect’s description was provided to the responding officer, police said.
The vehicle was located by Florham Park PD and was held pending an investigation, police said.
The investigation revealed Kalani Hill, 19, from Vauxhall was observed shoplifting and upon being confronted by loss prevention, she fled striking the loss prevention officer in the leg with her vehicle, police said.
Hill was charged with shoplifting, assault by auto, and was also issued motor vehicle summons for reckless driving, and a stop sign violation. She was released pending a court appearance, police said.
