Woman arrested for DWI after crash also kicks police equipment, damages wall in Hunterdon County

FLEMINGTON BOROUGH, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A Hunterdon County woman who was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a crash in Flemington Borough also damaged police equipment and a wall, according to police.

The crash happened on Sunday, October 30 in the area of South Main Street, police said.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with Candace Sparatta, 40, of Flemington who allegedly appeared to be under the influence of drugs. Subsequent tests and a search of the vehicle led to her arrest, police said.

Sparatta was charged with possession of heroin, possession of prescribed CDS not in a prescription container, possession of drug paraphernalia, being under the influence of CDS, DWI and multiple other motor vehicle violations, police said.

While at police headquarters, Sparatta was also charged with criminal mischief after kicking police equipment and damaging a wall. Sparatta was later transported to the Hunterdon County Sheriff’s Office and lodged, police said.
