Woman arrested for DWI kicks patrol car window, door

BYRAM TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A Union County woman who was arrested for driving while intoxicated allegedly kicked the window and door of a police cruiser in Byram Township, according to police.

On Feb. 10, an officer observed a vehicle on Route 206 that was failing to maintain its lane and failing to keep right. The officer then stopped the vehicle and while speaking to the driver, who was identified as Donna Colandro of Roselle Park, the officer felt she may be intoxicated, police said.

Colandro was asked to perform several field sobriety tests, which she failed. She was arrested and once she was secured in the patrol vehicle, she began to kick the inside of the patrol vehicle door as well as the window, police said.

Colandro was transported to the station where she refused to submit to breath tests, police said.

Colandro was charged with disorderly conduct, driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to breath tests, failure to maintain lane, failure to keep right, uninsured, unclear registration plates, careless driving, and reckless driving. She was then released pending a court appearence.
