Woman arrested for stealing 2 cartons of cigarettes from Sussex County QuickChek

SPARTA TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A Morris County woman was arrested earlier this month, after police say she stole 2 cartons of cigarettes from a QuickChek in Sparta Township.

On Jan. 1, police responded to the Sparta QuickChek for a shoplifting complaint. Upon arrival, the officer met with the manager who provided the officer with paperwork and surveillance footage of a customer that had shoplifted in the store, police said.

The accused individual was identified as Danielle L. Nemeth, 42, of Wharton Borough, police said.

Nemeth allegedly admitted to taking two cartons of Newport cigarettes from the QuickChek without paying. The total amount of cigarettes taken was $211.33. She was later found with a portion of the stolen merchandise on her person, police said.

Nemeth was charged with fourth-degree shoplifting and released pending a court appearance, police said.
