
Woman charged after running over victim several times with her car in Andover Twp.
ANDOVER TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A Passaic County woman is facing several charges after allegedly running over a person several times with her vehicle in Andover Township early Sunday morning.
On Oct. 27, at around 1:50 a.m., Andover Township police responded to The Bare Den, located at 641 Route 206, for a report of a person struck by a motor vehicle in the parking lot, police said.
The suspect’s vehicle, a 2016 Hyundai Sonata, left the parking lot and continued Route 206 southbound. A description of the vehicle and the license plate was obtained from witnesses and provided to responding Officers, police said.
A Byram Township officer located the suspect’s vehicle travelling on Route 206 and initiated a motor vehicle stop, police said.
The driver, who was identified as Jacqueline Lowe, 22, of Pompton Lakes, NJ, allegedly provided officers with several false names and dates of birth. Once Lowe was identified, she was found to have a suspended New Jersey license and outstanding warrants, police said.
While officers were speaking with Lowe, an officer allegedly detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage. Field sobriety tests were conducted, which she failed, police said.
Lowe was arrested and found to be in possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, police said.
Lowe was charged in Byram Township with driving while suspended, possession of controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, driving while intoxicated, possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, and hindering apprehension by false statements to law enforcement. She was then turned over to the Andover Township Police.
A police investigation revealed that Lowe ran over the victim with her vehicle several times causing serious bodily injury before leaving the scene, police said.
The victim was airlifted to Morristown Medical Center with serious injuries and remains there in stable condition, police said.
Lowe was charged in Andover Township with second-degree aggravated assault, third-degree assault by auto, third-degree possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, fourth-degree possession of a weapon, driving while intoxicated, driving while suspended, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident with Injury, and failure to report an accident.
Lowe was lodged in the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility.
