
Woman charged in Lopatcong Twp, found with Xanax and marijuana
LOPATCONG TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A Maryland woman was charged after police say they found Xanax and marijuana on her on Wednesday night.
On May 20, at around 7:30 p.m., officers responded to the Stryker’s Crossing strip mall for a report of two individuals smoking marijuana in a vehicle, police said.
Upon the officers arrival, the front seat passenger was identified as Chemika T. Brown, 43, of Capital Heights, Maryland. Brown was found to be in possession of a plastic bag containing approximately 20 grams of raw marijuana, three marijuana pipes and 13 Xanax pills without a valid prescription for a licensed practitioner, police said.
Brown was taken into custody and charged with possession of prescription legend drugs, possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was also issued a traffic summons for consumption of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, police said.
Brown was released on her own recognizance pending a court appearance.
