Woman charged with DWI following single-vehicle crash in Washington Borough

WASHINGTON BOROUGH, NJ (Warren County) – A Sussex County woman was arrested on a driving while intoxicated charge last month following a single-vehicle crash in Washington Borough, police said

On Sept. 25, at 7:55 p.m., police responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 20 block of South Lincoln Avenue in Washington Borough, police said.

As a result of the accident, the officer’s investigation resulted in the driver, who was identified as Jennifer Mehalik, 26, of Newton, being arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated (DWI). She had a BAC of .21%, police said.

Mehalik was charged with careless driving, failure to drive in marked lanes, operate a vehicle on a sidewalk, failure to produce documents and DWI. She was released pending a court appearance.
