Woman charged with DWI in Sussex County parking lot

BYRAM TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A Bergen County woman faces a DWI charge after she was spotted parked in a parking lot with her car running in Byram Township.

On July 8, an officer was conducting a property check of the ShopRite Plaza when the officer observed an occupied running vehicle parked in the lot, police said.

The officer made contact with the driver, who was identified as Christine J. Sosa, 45, of Lyndhurst, and while speaking to her, the officer felt she was intoxicated, police said.

Sosa was asked to do a field sobriety test, which she was unable to perform, police said.

Sosa was then arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and careless driving. She was released pending a court appearance, police said.
