Woman charged with DWI, reckless driving in Mount Olive Township

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) –  A 46-year-old Somerset County woman is facing charges including driving while intoxicated in Mount Olive Township.

On April 30, an officer was on routine patrol in the area of Route 46 and Wolfe Road when the officer observed a 2010 Mazda backing up in the intersection after taking a wide turn, police said.

The officer stopped the vehicle and came in contact with the driver, identified as Alyssa M. Ventola of Bedminster, who immediately showed signs of impairment due to alcohol, police said.

Ventola then performed standard field sobriety tests and upon completion of the tests, she was arrested, police said.

Ventola was charged with DWI, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, and improper backing. She was released to a sober driver pending a court appearance, police said.
