Hackettstown man charged for standing in roadway and knocking on car windows asking for cigarettes

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – A Hackettstown man was charged for allegedly standing in the roadway and knocking on car windows asking for cigarettes in Hackettstown, according to police.

On Saturday, Nov. 11, at around 5:38 a.m., police observed Frank R. Vizthum, 54, of Hackettstown standing in the middle of Route 182 while the traffic light was red and knocking on car windows, police said.

Police determined that Vizthum was asking motorists for cigarettes, police said.

Vizthum was charged with disorderly conduct and released pending a court appearance, police said.
