Hometown Holiday Event brings crowds, holiday spirit to downtown Hackettstown (VIDEO)

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – Hundreds of people turned out Friday night to kick off the Hackettstown Business Improvement District‘s Hometown Holiday Event, which runs through Sunday, December 4.

The event kicked off at 5:00 p.m. with carriage rides, an open house at the Hackettstown Historical Society, and the Hackettstown Middle School Tiger Tunes & HackettsTONES at the Gazebo Park. Then at 5:30 p.m., Centenary University held their grand illumination of the Seay building.

The parade began at 7:00 p.m., and that’s when Santa and his elves marched up Main Street and arrived at the Gazebo Park on the corner of Main St and West Moore St. to light the Christmas tree.

Throughout the festive hometown celebration, visitors enjoyed singing, music, and a Holiday tent that had shopping, community groups and food. Many of the shops were also open late for shopping.

Hometown Holiday Events for Saturday, December 3rd:

  • Visit the Tent (behind Stella G’s) on Saturday Dec 3rd Noon – 4:00PM Shop Small celebration
  • Free selfies with Santa (Families and pets)
  • Free crafts *Face painting BY JESS
  • Hot cocoa bar by Greene’s Beans
  • Live music under the tent – BRASS Roots 12-2pm
  • Strolling through town kUDOS BARBERSHOP Quartet ~ 1-3pm and Hackettstown Community Band ~ 2-4pm

Candy Cane Lane drive-thru light and Santa event for Saturday, Dec. 3rd:

This will be a drive-thru light and decoration experience. Families will remain in their car to see Candy Cane Lane which will be created by the Hackettstown BID, BID businesses and local community organizations.

Santa and his elf will greet you at the end of the drive-thru with a family goody bag.

Reservations are limited and first come first serve every half hour between 5:00pm and 7:30pm. Online reservation and a $5 donation required to assist local food banks during this holiday season.

A printed receipt must be displayed in your car window to gain access to Candy Cane Lane.

RNJ Radio will once again be providing the musical accompaniment to this Saturday’s Candy Cane Lane Drive Through Light and Santa event at Hackettstown High School. Tune us in on your car radio at 104.7 FM for 3 hours of your Christmas and Holiday favorites from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
