Hunterdon County’s 48th annual Summer Concert Series begins June 27

FLEMINGTON, NJ (Hunterdon County) – The Hunterdon County Commissioner and the Division of Parks and Recreation is excited to announce once again its free concert series, “Music Under the Stars”, beginning in June.

The concerts are held outdoors at Deer Path Park located at, 120 West Woodschurch Road, in Flemington. Most concerts for 2024 will be held on Thursdays, from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on the following dates: June 27, July 11, July 18, July 25, August 1, and August 8.

New this year, is the addition of a Special Youth Concert entitled, “Beauty & The Beats”, on Saturday, July 27 from 10:00 a.m. to noon.

Commissioner Director, Jeff Kuhl expressed his excitement that summer concert time is approaching and said, “The annual ‘Music Under the Stars’ concert series brings together residents and families alike to Deer Path Park for some fun and free entertainment. I am grateful to Parks and Recreation Division Head, Dan Bush, and his entire team for organizing these wonderful musical performances for our residents.”

The summer concert series is a family-oriented event, and residents are encouraged to bring friends, extended family, and their leashed pets, and lawn chairs. Families are encouraged to spread out a blanket, have a picnic dinner, and enjoy the playgrounds. This year the Kona Ice truck will be at all the Thursday concerts in Deer Path Park as a sweet treat to beat the Summer heat. Please remember that alcoholic beverages are not permitted.

Funding for the concert series is made possible by the Hunterdon Board of County Commissioners and the Hunterdon County Cultural & Heritage Commission, through proceeds from the Special Recreation Trust Fund.

County Division Head of Parks and Recreation, Dan Bush said, “We are truly grateful to the Board of Commissioners and the Cultural & Heritage Commission for the continued support through the Special Recreation Trust Fund. Without this backing, successful events like this concert series could not take place. We look forward to another great summer of musical entertainment.”

Weather permitting, all concerts will be held outside at the Deer Path Park location. Should weather conditions dictate that any events be moved indoors, concerts will be held at Hunterdon Central High School, 84 Route 31, in Flemington.
