Man arrested after flashing genitals at passing cars, making sexual comment to woman in Hackettstown

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – An Essex County man has been arrested after he is accused of flashing his genitals at passing cars and making a sexual comment to a woman in Hackettstown, according to police.

On Tuesday, March 5, at around 10:37 a.m., police responded to the area of Valentine Street and Jefferson Street for a report of a male flashing his genitals to passing vehicles, police said.

Then on Saturday, April 20, at around12:35 p.m., police responded to the parking lot of Hackettstown High School, 599 Warren Street, for a report of a male that made a sexual comment, police said.

The adult woman stated that a man made a sexual comment to her while she was sitting in her car while parked in the junior parking lot. The woman then began to yell and scream and he fled the area, police said.

On Friday, April 26, as a result of these investigations, Jared Aponte, 27, of Newark, was charged with lewdness for the March 5 incident and harassment for the April 20 incident, police said.

Aponte was then released pending a court appearance, police said.
