Morris County man charged with sexually assaulting child

EAST HANOVER TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Morris County man has been charged with sexually assaulting a child in East Hanover Township, according to Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll.

Gerardo Patrizio, 65, of East Hanover Township has been charged first-degree aggravated sexual assault, three counts of second-degree sexual assault, and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child. He has been detained in the Morris County Correctional Facility pending future court proceedings, Carroll said.

It is alleged that between March 1, 2022, and March 1, 2024, Patrizio performed multiple sexual acts with a child, Carroll said.

“The incident remains under investigation and no further information will be released at this time. The identity of the victim will not be released,” Carroll said.
