2 seriously injured, 1 ejected from SUV, during crash on I-80 in Warren County

ALLAMUCHY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – Two people were seriously injured in a crash on Interstate 80 in Warren County Monday night, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Jeffrey Lebron.

The crash occurred at approximately 8:01 p.m. on Interstate 80 eastbound at milepost 15.8 in Allamuchy Township, Lebron said.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a BMW SUV was traveling eastbound on I-80 when, at milepost 15.8, the vehicle lost control, veered left, and struck the left guardrail. The vehicle then redirected, crossing all three travel lanes before hitting the right guardrail. It then redirected again to the left, crossing all three lanes and striking the metal bridge rail, Lebron said.

During the sequence of collisions, the passenger, Robyn Saffner, 75, of Saddle River, was ejected and sustained serious injuries. The driver, Ariel Holover, 43, of Sparta Township, also sustained serious injuries. Both individuals were transported to an area hospital, Lebron said.

The crash remains under investigation, Lebron added.
