FLEMINGTON BOROUGH, NJ (Hunterdon County) – Two people were taken to the hospital following a Saturday morning structure fire in Hunterdon County.

At 11:33 a.m., crews with the Flemington Rescue Squad were dispatched alongside the Flemington Volunteer Fire Department and several mutual aid companies to a fire on East Main Street in Flemington Borough, according to the Flemington-Raritan First Aid and Rescue Squad.

First responders arrived quickly on scene and confirmed a fully involved structure fire. Two patients were transported to medical facilities, officials said.

The cause of the fire was not immediately clear.

Flemington-Raritan First Aid and Rescue Squad’s Heavy Rescue was struck by a motorist attempting to squeeze through the scene, officials said.

“While the damage to the vehicle was minor, the incident highlights the importance of not driving through emergency scenes unless directed by law enforcement,” officials said.
