3-alarm fire breaks out at commercial building in Sussex County

HAMBURG BOROUGH, NJ (Sussex County) – Early Monday morning, the Hamburg Fire Department responded to a reported fire at a warehouse on Gingerbread Castle Road in Hamburg Borough.

Upon arrival, the situation escalated to a third-alarm commercial structure fire, prompting additional units from Sussex and Morris counties to assist.

The Sussex County Tanker Task Force worked alongside fire crews for over 12 hours, delivering multiple trucks of water to the scene. The Hamburg Fire Department extends its thanks to the mutual aid units, Hamburg OEM, Hamburg Police, and everyone involved.

Crews may continue to operate in the area over the next few days, and residents are asked to keep the area clear for safety.

The cause of the fire wasn’t immediately clear.
