75-year-old crossing guard fatally struck by vehicle in Hunterdon County

HIGH BRIDGE BOROUGH, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A 75-year-old crossing guard was fatally struck by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon in High Bridge Borough, according to the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office.

The crash occurred around 12:10 p.m. at the intersection of County Route 513 and Larrison Avenue. Robert Bork, of High Bridge Borough, was struck by a vehicle traveling south on County Route 513. He was airlifted to Morristown Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries, officials said.

Bork was employed as a crossing guard for the High Bridge Police Department and was on duty at the time of the incident, authorities said.

The crash remains under investigation by the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office’s Forensic Analysis Collision Team (F.A.C.T.) and the High Bridge Police Department. No summonses have been issued at this time, the prosecutor’s office said.
