Sussex County man arrested for possessing child pornography

BYRAM TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A Sussex man was charged for allegedly possessing child pornography in Byram Township, according to police.

Members of the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit recently identified Matthew A. Ingenito, 21, of Byram Township during an Internet child pornography investigation, police said.

The investigation, which involved a court-authorized search of Ingenito’s electronic device, revealed he allegedly viewed, saved, downloaded, and/or possessed items depicting nude and/or sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent children, police said.

As a result of the investigation, on Nov. 14, Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office Detectives and Byram Township Police Detective arrested Ingenito, and he was charged with second-degree possession of child pornography, police said.

Ingenito has been released pending a court appearance, police said.
