NJ Transit engine pulling freight train catches fire in Roxbury Township; no injuries

ROXBURY TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — An NJ Transit engine pulling a freight train caught fire around 6:40 p.m. near the Port Morris Yard in Roxbury Township on Sunday, authorities said.

No passengers were on board, and the train crew safely exited the engine without injury. NJ Transit officials said the fire did not disrupt rail service.

The Roxbury Fire Department extinguished the blaze. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
