Vehicle leaves roadway, ends up partially in water in Morris County

ROCKAWAY TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — Emergency responders were called Saturday evening to a motor vehicle crash after a car left the roadway and landed partially in water in Rockaway Township, according to the Rockaway Township Fire Department.

The crash was reported at about 7:45 p.m. in the area of Mount Hope Avenue and Struble Lane. A single vehicle was found approximately 100 feet off the roadway, partially submerged.

The driver was out of the vehicle when police and fire personnel arrived at the scene. Emergency medical services evaluated the driver on site.

Fire department crews remained at the location to assist and secure the area until the vehicle was removed by a tow company.

No additional information on injuries or the cause of the crash was immediately available.
